Our latest member of the month is none other than Jenny Kalmanidis! Jenny started training with us earlier this year and her strength has just improved in leaps and bounds! Jenny trains with Cass twice per week and has even started training once on her own (much to Jen’s own surprise she actually enjoys her gym time!). She was nominated for her incredible dedication to her training despite being incredibly busy with work and her three teenage boys. A real inspiration to mum’s everywhere!
What initially prompted you to start training with Chodat fitness?
I had pain from osteoarthritis in my knees and ongoing leg and glute pain. I was receiving short term relief from massage therapists, Osteopaths, physiotherapists and podiatrists but they all recommended gaining muscle for long term relief so I called Chodat fitness to get started on a program.
What is your current goal, or next mini goal you are looking to achieve?
I guess to become stronger and more toned, would also be good to be able to do chin ups!
What’s your biggest achievement so far?
Doing push ups on my toes.
What do you enjoy most about training?
That Cass has a different work out prepared for me at every session to keep me motivated.
How has your lifestyle changed?
I feel stronger , healthier and fitter. I am more aware of what I am eating. I have a lot more energy during the day and sleep a whole lot better at night. Now I look forward to working out.
What is one piece of advice you would like to give to others just starting out?
I would say to start off with personal training sessions if you haven’t worked out in a while. It gave me more confidence to have someone there to make sure I was doing it correctly and to encourage me to push a bit harder. It also helps to get off the lounge in the middle of winter when you have your sessions already booked in and paid for!!
