Our next Member of the Month is one of our younger clients, Ashleigh. She was nominated for her determination, positivity, her ability to smile all the way through her workouts and of course her outstanding results. Ash has been training with Cass once a week since June in preparation for her back surgery in December this year, Ash has Adolescent Idiopathic Scoliosis and through doing her training she has seen some phenomenal increases in her results!
Her single leg balance has gone from 4 and 14 seconds to 1:10 minutes and 58 seconds respectively, she has knocked 40 seconds off her x-trainer test making her time faster and can now hold a plank for almost 2 minutes. Keep up the great work Ash – You are an absolute legend!
What initially prompted you to start training with Chodat Fitness?
In March 2015 I was diagnosed with mild scoliosis however in February 2017 this turned to a severe case that can only be corrected by having major spinal surgery.
What is your current goal, or next mini goal you are looking to achieve?
My current goal is to strengthen my core to aid and support my recovery after surgery.
What is your biggest achievement so far?
I have not experienced any side effects from the scoliosis which would have impacted my walking, damaged my nerves and I don’t suffer sever pain that would have been associated due to my muscles and ligaments also curving to protect my spine.
How has your lifestyle changed?
I have seen a huge reduction in pain and look forward to training each week with Cass
What is one piece of advice you would like to give to others just starting out?
It does not matter how slowly you go as long as you do not stop!!!
