You hear about it all too often, breakfast is the most important meal of the day. This statement reigns quite true, and missing this meal will cause a number of negative aspects for your body especially if you’re undertaking a training session.
- Your body essentially has minimal to no glycogen so will use body fat as a fuel source
- This fuel is not good for high intensity activity and could cause fatigue, light headedness and poor energy
- Missing breakfast could cause a reduction in strength, speed and agility
- Low glycogen levels could cause poor decision making and clouded judgement when needing to make fast decisions in training or playing sport
Always keep your fuel up before training, breakfast is so important.
